10/7/2019 Group 2
Today is the first day of the Stanford Pre-Collegiate
Studies. In the morning we had our first Global Solutions Project meeting. We met
our group mates from different countries: Philippines, Germany and Brazil. We
played games together and introduced ourselves to one another. We had a brief
introduction of the project by the tutors.
Next we went for the workshop “Today was A Good Day:
Storytelling through Hip-Hop” by teacher Ashley Newby. We learnt to write
stories with six words only, listened to Hip-Hop songs and tried to analyze the
lyrics, such as how did the song make use of ethos, pathos, logos to persuade
the listeners its main idea. Besides, we also composed our own Hip-Hop songs,
all of us wrote a rap song. We had lots of fun throughout the workshop.

After that, we participated in the scavenger hunt game, led
by the TA and CA of the program. We had to complete different missions at different
places of the campus, such as taking photos of pretending to be pushing down
the Hoover Tower. The group that was able to complete the most missions would
be the winner and they would be rewarded.
