We had a fruitful day starting off with a visual story
telling workshop. Despite it had a formal definition of what the workshop was
like, it was the most interesting and relaxing class we ever had in Stanford up
to now. This course taught us how to
refine a photograph. In other words, it taught us how to tell a story through a
colored and motionless photograph. The professor took us out for a walk around
the campus and took various pictures, both portraits and landscapes. Since most
of the time the class was conducted at outdoor, we enjoyed it very much. We have
learnt some skills to take photographs. For example, it is important that the subject
of the photograph should be placed in the middle and should be the main focus
of the picture. Moreover, the light intensity of the photograph is also very
important. It should neither be too bright nor too dim. We will try to apply
our new knowledge in our daily when we take pictures.
After lunch, we had our international business workshop. Four
of us in our group studied business so we found the workshop familiar and
easier to handle and analyze different cases. We learnt what are multinational
enterprises and how the CEO of the firms make decisions. We also did a case
analysis and role-played the CEO of the firm to make decisions concerning the
current situation of the market. It was fun and challenging.
During nighttime, we had our fire pit night. It was
rare in Hong Kong to hold a gathering like this and we did really enjoy our
time spending with our international friends. We took a lot of photographs in
the field and sang together when we sat around the fire pit. We had a lot of
fun and tonight was memorable night.
