Date: 11/7/19 (Group 3)
Our new friend

It was the third day of our Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes. Our first stop was the SLAC national accelerator laboratory.
We saw a lot of high-tech equipment, especially a particle accelerator and a Stanford linear collider. We really appreciated the detailed introduction from the 2 tour guides on various duties and projects performed in SLAC. We were amazed by applications of different waves in various fields of industry. For example, when the particle accelerator was built, it was maintained straight by a ray of light. We were staggered by how such basic knowledge among the other topics in Physics can be applied multi-faceted, even in such complicated projects.

Visiting SLAC Lab
After we filled our hunger, we French A had a Leadership class. Even though the sensations and emotions the teacher discussed are relatable to our daily lives, the philosophy and theory behind were remarkably astonishing. The teacher was very passionate in every exercise we participated in.

Our dinner was followed by our Global Solution Project meeting. In this project we aim to create an island of our own, teaming up with our peers in the same camp from different countries. We were all a bit shy initially. Yet, we were all actively engaged in discussions a while later. I have also known more new friends in the mean time.We Have had a great time and we would really treasure our remaining time in here!
