11 July, 2019 Group 6
At 9:45, we all set off for the SLAC lab where we get to take a closer look at the physics and engineering laboratory and all the experiments taking place at the moment. It was very fascinating and we all gazed in awe when we were told about the purpose and usage of the experiment. SLAC has been instrumental in the development of the klystron, a high-power microwave amplification tube.It also centers on a broad program in atomic and solid-state physics, chemistry, biology, and medicine using X-rays. It was hard to understand as all the terms used by the demonstrators were professional. We returned to the FloMo canteen where we had lunch.
After lunch, we went to our mock trial class where we get to experience how it feels like to be in a court. It was nervous but entertaining at the same time, seeing the plaintiff side and defense side arguing agitatedly. It allowed us to enhance our debating skills and analytic skills.
At night, we had our last multi-cultural exhibition
rehearsal. We demonstrated to our counsellors about how they could tie a Chinese bracelet and decoration from a single piece of string. At first they were very confused, but at the end when they finally got it right, they were so excited, contented and relieved about their determination as the result turned out really good. We are looking forward to the multi-cultural exhibition tomorrow.
