12/7/2019 Group 5

12th July 2019

Our day started with neutro autonomy lecture. We learnt about the human nervous system and how different parts of the brain are connected to perform particular functions. The lecturer introduced the symptoms and harms of various clinical disorders in the nervous system. The lesson was fun and interesting, which has inspired some of us to devote ourselves in future occupation in the biology and medicine field.
Our second lecture was Design Thinking lesson. We have applied some thinking theories such as generating ideas from users’ perspective and making prototypes in designing our own restaurant. We have also applied some of our economic and business knowledge in our proposal. We enjoyed our time so much.
In the second GSP meeting, we have discussed the history and the value of the South Island by defining the social, cultural and environmental problems. New thinking skills enhanced our progress significantly. We became closer with our GSP members .
After a dinner in the Synergy House, we joined one of the highlights of this Programme, multi-cultural exhibition (MCE). We set up our own booth which promoted Chinese paper cutting and making Chinese knots. It was an amazing night that we had chance to get along with people from other countries. Through the performances prepared by other countries like dancing by the Philippines, singing by Indonesia and drama by Brazil, we learnt more about foreign cultures. Our booths were popular and all participants enjoyed the activities. We took a lot of photos with our newly-met friends all over the world and recorded all precious moments.
