To start up our weekend, we went to California’s Academy of Sciences. The museum keeps numerous marine organisms and plants, which shows the interaction of organisms in real ecosystem. We applied our biology knowledge to observe the features of certain fish species and the habitats of insects that live in the rainforest. It is interesting to see how certain insects have special body features to adapt to the environment, such as pinworm hide themselves from predators by camouflage so they can escape from predators.
After a quick packed lunch time on the coach, we finally arrived at the Golden Gate Bridge. We had to wear our thick jackets because of the windy and foggy weather. Although the sky was misty, we were still excited to visit the bridge and took many photos there. The Golden Gate Bridge was such a landmark and we spent a precious 30 minutes there, looking at the spectacular view.
After that, we went to Fisherman's Wharf. We were already excited when we saw the crowd on the bus. We quickly got off the bus to enjoy our free time in the groups of five. We have done a lot of activities like shopping around the souvenir shops. We finally had a chance to spend our money and bought bags of T-shirts and sweatshirts. Also, the scenery there was gorgeous and amusing. We have also ate some delectable churros and ice cream with refreshing lemonade.
Last captivating activity of the day was Tie dye and we had so much fun in designing and colouring white T-shirt. The first step lasted for around 1 hour and we placed our semi-finished product in a plastic bag for soaking. We are looking forward to proceed to the second step of drying.
After the tie dying activity, Philippine students invited us to sing. We sang songs of different pop stars such as Taylor Swift and Shawn Mendes. We engaged in the activity so much. They inspired us to be persisting as they practiced a lot in order to achieve such pretty melody and techniques.
