Group 2_7/11/2019
Today was an exhilarating day filled with various activities. We woke up early in the morning and set off for breakfast. We then arrive at the SLAC Lab where large-scale experiments and investigations had taken place. Although most of us in the group didn’t take physics, we were amazed by the spectacular equipment owned by the lab. The 1,500 scientists working in the lab do contribute a lot to the science field. We respect them from the bottom of our heart.

After a quick lunch, we have our lessons about mock trail. We were assigned a case in which we are required to form 2 teams, plaintiff and defense, and start the debate. We did not only battle with exhaustion, but also felt the urge to give up during our preparation. During the trial, we managed to express confidently about our views. We have developed critical thinking skills and learnt how to respond immediately. We also learnt the skills required in a trial. For example, we shouldn’t let go the opposing witness until we got the information that is beneficial to us. This lesson was really exciting and we enjoyed it a lot.

Next, we had a GSP meeting with our newly-met international friends. Irrespective of our social and religious background, we were joined together and were going to think of solutions to make the world a better place. This project is definitely meaningful and it enables us to learn about different cultures from different countries. Moreover, it broadens our horizons and enables us to think extensively. It also enhances our communication skills when we were discussing our ideas and opinions in the group.
