11 July 2019 Group 4

First, we went to the SLAC lab nearby. We watched a video to learn more about the history and the overview of the lab, and through the tour guide's explanation we learnt a lot about the wide variety of experiments the lab is designed for, such as the particle accelerator and equipment involving x-ray lasers.

After lunch, we attended the "Effective Leadership" workshop, we learnt about our different inner selves and "power poses". It was really inspiring and allowed us to relax a bit. The professor was fun and used a creative way to guide us throughout the lesson.

Next, we had the Global Solution Project meeting. We had a chance to warm up with our teammates from other countries, and brainstormed lots of ideas together. We could see diverse cultures from different cultures providing unique insights into the situation, thus we learnt to listen and respect other's opinions. It was also a great chance for us to apply skills and knowledge learnt from Liberal Studies, for example, energy diplomacy and maintaining sustainability.

After dinner, we prepared for tomorrow's Multi-cultural exhibition, such as practicing how to instruct participants to make goldfish and lanterns and also the Chinese calligraphy. We are more confident now about what we have prepared and are definitely looking forward to the exhibition tomorrow.
