16/7/2019 Group 6
After having the breakfast, we had a class on Visual Storytelling in our Digital Age with Dr Simon. We learnt about the three elements of good photo, which is composition, lighting and story. Dr Simon shown us his Stanford Calendar collection and we were all amused by his talents. After the lecture, we visited the observation deck platform of the Hoover Tower and took a lot of photos. It provides an expansive view of the Stanford University campus. Since today was a clear day, we could see all the way to the distant skyline of San Francisco. In this course, Dr Simon taught us to redefine our stories and add meaning to our photos even everyone in the class shared same experience.
After lunch, we had a class on International Business with Professor Welch. We first started off the class by introducing three multinational companies worldwide. We then grouped into teams and discussed about the solutions for the case study assigned. The case study was about whether Yum! Brands Inc should help KFC, their brother company, to install technological capabilities into their shops.
We all came up with brilliant ideas and the class was very engaging.
At the fire pit night, we sat beside a fire pit and ate smores, which are biscuits filled with marshmallows and chocolate. We also took some beautiful pictures by the dry Lagunita lake and sang popular songs such as photograph, I’m yours during dusk. Everyone enjoyed the night a lot. When the light disappeared and we are surrounded by darkness, we were reluctant to leave.
