This morning, we went to a conference hall to start off the global solutions project. We were seated according to our global solutions project groups. The counsellors played some games with us such as ‘cross the line’ and ‘the name game’. We got to know more about our groupmates and learn about their cultures and backgrounds. Throughout the games, we were taught to respect one another and appreciate our differences. We made new friends from Brazil, Cyprus and India. Although it was quite awkward at first, we started talking with open minds and discussed our cultures.
After lunch at the dining hall, we had a lesson about hip hop culture such as its music, graffiti and breakdancing. We also made up our own rap song and presented it. Not only did we learn more about hip hop culture, we experienced talking in front of a group of people. The experience of public speaking was valued greatly. Afterwards, we did a scavenger hunt with our global solutions project groupmates. Through the hunt, we bonded with our groupmates and it was a lot of fun.
