Our first lesson was Silicon Valley vs. The world: The Impact of Technology today. We got a chance to discuss the impacts of technology on people, politics and culture through cases analysis. We studied two articles about the Rekognition technology developed by Amazon. Then we had a hot debate on whether facial Rekognition should be implemented in Carlifornia. That was a great opportunity for us to think in different perspective as we were separated into various stakeholders like lawmakers, citizens and IT developers and law enforcement institution.

Second lecture was creative writing lesson conducted by Mr John Lee right after lunch. That will be memorable for us. In the first activity, We chose some whatsapp messages randomly from our phones. Afterwards, we, gathered all the selected sentences and tried to compose meaningful poems. It was a great experience to foster our creativity. We also did an activity which required us to write the introduction and our friends will continue the story. All activities are very interesting and really enlightened our imagination!

We had GSP meeting after the Creative Writing class. We continued to discuss different aspects such as immigration and assimilation, environmental sustainability and economic & trade. We started to make the PowerPoint of our project and discussed on the flow of presentation. In the meeting tomorrow, we planned to design our flags and name of the island. We hope we can finish all the task efficiently!
